The Automax is about as worthless as the plastic used to make it. That's my opinion for what it's worth. I now use the Garrett Pro Pointer, which has been an essential part of my medal detecting. Now that the previous comments are out of the way, I have a Automax Precision V4 Pinpointer that has been in my toolbox since I got the Garrett.

To make a comparison I have an Automax V4 which I believe is identical to the V2 other than the numbers on decal. It measures a little over 18 inches in length. My older White's "black box" 120 Bullseye measures less than 9 1/2 inches and the newer 140 Bullseye measures about 10 5/8 inches.
